Lillian Holley

For Immediate Release – 2/1/2020
C.O.P.S. Concerns of Police Survivors Benefit unveils Sheriff Lillian Holley’s Ford V8 Police car stolen by Public Enemy Number 1 John Dillinger.
CROWN POINT, IN. — The Second Annual Crown Point Concours Collector Car Show VIP Night, hosted by Dr. Mark Van Buskirk of Van Buskirk & Krischke DDS, LLC and Leslie Bailey Events will be held April 17, 2020. The Concours kicks off Friday night with a 1930’s- themed VIP night featuring a historic unveiling of the 1933 Ford Police Car stolen from the Crown Point Jail by John Dillinger March 3, 1934. The Show will recognize fallen officers, specifically Officer O’Malley and his family, for their service and sacrifice to the community.

Arizona native Mark Love and Roger Pace of Pace Realty will bring the elusive car back to Crown Point where is was stolen 86 years ago. Pace, Love and Jim Emerson of the Old Sheriff’sHouse Foundation have been working together for many years to get the historic police car displayed. Love will share never-before-seen original footage, photos, and documents chronicling Dillinger’s escape from Crown Point. Lillian Holley became the Lake County sheriff after her husband, Roy Holley was gunned down in the line of duty. Dillinger was never found guilty of committing a murder before being gunned down at the Biograph Theatre in Chicago, IL.

A $100.00 VIP ticket offers Friday night attendees first glance at the collection of privately owned and hand selected automobiles and motorcycles selected by Dr. Mark Van Buskirk and his selection committee. This exclusive line-up includes classic autos from Duesenberg, Lamborghini, Stutz, Ferrari, and Auburn. In addition, the winning 1951 Indianapolis 500 car, driven by racer Lee Wallard and owned by Murrell Belanger, will be on loan from The Motor Speedway Museum of Indianapolis.
Guests are encouraged to dress in 1930’s attire. Ticket price includes live solo acoustic entertainment by Chris Barron lead singer of the popular 90’s band Spin Doctors. Devils Trumpet Brewery of Merrillville will brew a special limited-release beer and additional beverages will be provided by Indiana Beverage Distributing. Friday’s live auction will feature original Dillinger artifacts and other items with proceeds going to the C.O.P.S. Foundation 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
